Let's be honest, nobody really expected a virus to disrupt our daily lives in this way, especially those who were delighted to start college and a new life with new expectations. One year had gone and this was almost over when the second wave chose to turn up. I know the lockdown makes the introverts feel safe and secure, but they, too, have ideas and expectations about what they want to accomplish once they go to college.

We all have different expectations. It may be you drinking chai from a tapri with your bestie, flirting with your crush & impressing him/her with your strongest one liners or making him/her laugh with the jokes you learned from Google, bunking school with your friends, or even playing sports or hitting the gym with them. But if you haven't thought yourself participating in various clubs or competitions, if you haven't imagined yourself studying overnight with a friend or perhaps your class topper copying notes or completing assignments, or even if you haven't dreamed of yourself saving your college from some random terrorist attack, then probably you are living a boring life.

Now, I did get to go to my college and stroll about a little, not that I was attending classes there, but yes, I do have a whole set of expectations of what all I want to explore and I'm going to talk about my plans.

I picture myself passing through my college gate, where I notice a few folks rushing to get to class, one of them happens to be a buddy from my class with whom I don't talk much, so I grin and continue.

I walk forward and see two students having a political debate, which I decide to move ahead because I know where I hold, and there in I walk by my crush for a minute, I freeze and give her an awkward smile, to which she responds with a cruel ignore, and then I go on to wonder why she hasn't replied to my text, by then I come back to life and try to orient my lost mind to figure out where my class actually is with the map in my mind. I arrive at my lesson, which has already begun, and want to join in, but the instructor refuses since I am late. I am not shocked, so I open my phone to check my attendance ratio, smile, and leave to join my bunking buddies at the canteen as we go for a football match.

Come back exhausted, drink a cold coffee, attend my next class on time, and then go on to meet my club members and work with them . Spend some time with them, complain about some maniac in class, and discuss your desire to do an assignment (but later on obviously skipping it). Returning home and nodding off to sleep.

If you can connect to what I'm saying, don't stop doing what you're doing; instead, let it build up to what you haven't thought of yet and make it happen when you get the chance. It may be frustrating at these times when you want so much but nothing is being met, but perhaps discussing your expectations and desires with your friends will assist you with this and make your lockdown memorable.
